Our Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Myriad Investments is committed to positively impacting our communities by delivering sustainable value

Technology and Connectivity have revolutionized the way we live our lives, offering numerous benefits that can positively impact our everyday experiences. Through our Fiber to the Business (FTTB), Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and renewable energy businesses, we contribute to economic growth by creating jobs and enabling homes and businesses to continue to operate.

As businesses continue to digitize, new jobs in software development, digital marketing, and e-commerce are emerging, providing a wealth of opportunities for people to enter the job market online. Additionally, connectivity has allowed for remote work, which can help individuals save time and money, while also giving them more flexibility in balancing work and personal responsibilities.

Renewable energy sources like solar have not only created new employment but helped people reduce their energy costs.

The internet has transformed the way we access and consume educational resources. Online learning platforms have made education more accessible, enabling people to learn new skills from anywhere in the world. With online courses and virtual classrooms, individuals can now pursue higher education at their own pace, regardless of their location or time constraints. This has opened up a new world of opportunities for individuals who may not have otherwise had access to education. NetNineNine and Evotel recently partnered with educational diagnostics company Learn2, to offer schools in small towns in South Africa and previously disadvantaged informal settlements free access to its diagnostics and video-based learning platform.

Connectivity has had a significant impact on entertainment too, providing a wealth of options for people to consume media. With streaming services and online gaming, people can access a vast array of content that was previously unavailable to them. This has not only broadened the entertainment landscape but has also created job opportunities for content creators.

Fiber connectivity and renewable energy has greatly improved the lives of people, creating new opportunities for employment, education, and entertainment. As technology continues to advance, it will undoubtedly continue to positively impact our everyday lives.

Youth Development

At Myriad Investments we recognise the need to invest in the development of youth in South Africa. Our goal is to equip the youth with the necessary tools and skills needed to build a prosperous future for themselves, their families, and communities.

Yes for Youth!

The Youth Employment Service (YES) was launched in October 2018 by the Presidency, and is a business-led collaboration with government and labour. The goal is to create one million work opportunities for unemployed youth by 2023.

The initiative calls on businesses to help the government create critical work experience for young people across the country. It provides talented young people (between the ages of 18 - 35) without formal qualifications to get work experience for a 12-month period, with the ultimate aim of improving their chances of gaining long-term quality employment.

Myriad Group supports Yes for Youth with an annual intake of candidates.

The Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre (JHGC)

The JHGC is a not-for-profit educational institution and their expenses are covered through donations and partnerships with individuals, foundations, corporations, embassies and national and international government and non-government organisations.

The JHGC seeks to raise awareness of:

  • The evils of genocide with a particular focus on the Holocaust and the 1994 genocide in Rwanda
  • to serve as a memorial to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust
  • all victims of Nazi Germany
  • and the estimated 800,000 Tutsi victims of the Genocide in Rwanda
  • to teach about the consequences of prejudice, racism, antisemitism, homophobia and xenophobia and the dangers of indifference, apathy, and silence to freedom and democracy.

Reflex Solutions together with our suppliers decided to supply all services at no cost, and after five years, Reflex Solutions is still proud to be the JHGC ICT service provider, continuing to support their vision and expansion.

We believe that educating South Africans on how quickly and easily these atrocities can occur is particularly important.

We have a dark history as well as many minority groups within South Africa, and if our youth is not educated on the need for empathy and tolerance of others we are all at risk of either being a victim or potentially worse - a perpetrator.
